It’s probably the single most expensive item of your trip, so traveling with an airline that looks after you is paramount, and right now there’s no other airline that does this better than Cathay Pacific. Cathay Pacific Airways has once again been awarded World’s Best Airline in Skytrax’s annual awards. This is the fourth time that Cathay Pacific receives such honour after receiving the award back in 2003, 2005, and 2009.
The latest Skytrax awards were given based on the opinion of 18,850,000 passengers of airlines from around the world who voted for their favorite travel experiences between August 2013 and May 2014. Skytrax is known for making the most comprehensive assessment based on customer satisfaction in the airline industry. The latest study conducted involved airlines from 160 countries covering a total of 245 carriers worldwide. Surveys were based on 41 key indicators of products and services for airlines.
The CEO of Cathay Pacific, Ivan Chu, received the award on behalf of the airline at a ceremony organized by Skytrax at the Farnborough Airshow held in the UK on July 15. Commenting on the award, Mr. Chu said he was “very proud both for Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong” to receive this honor.
Cathay Pacific Airways is an airline with a strong presence in Asia and based in Hong Kong International Airport. It has been described several times as Airline of the Year by Skytrax, the global organization that researches and compares the different airlines and airports worldwide. After acquiring its rival Hong Kong Airways, in 1959, expanded and modernized the fleet. In 1980 he made his first flight to Europe, specifically to Gatwick Airport in London. As a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, the airline has codeshare agreements with American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Japan Airlines among others code.
The route network of Cathay Pacific Airways has expanded significantly through cooperation with alliance partners and other bilateral relations. Cathay Pacific Airways offers flights to South Africa, Europe, North America and Oceania, and numerous destinations in Asia.
Now more than ever the airline industry gets more competitive and the only way for an airline to prosper is to offer its clients the best at all levels. This year’s Skytrax award proves once again that Cathay Pacific has been doing things very well. Now it’s up to Cathay Pacific to continue to provide a superior travel experience in the years to come.
